Pearson has adopted the Software Engineering Institute's (SEI's) Capability Maturity Model (CMM) standards for software development process management and control.

CMM is the application of process management and quality improvement concepts to software development and maintenance. CMM provides us a uniform framework for the creation and maintenance of software. By establishing uniform procedures for software development and maintenance, we provide our customers quality software that is developed through an efficient and repeatable process.
